After a week of working in mild spring temperatures, I wanted to see the progression of glide slides in Broads.
A good refreeze, although only about an inch thick, made ski crampons the way to go.
They worked good!
Skied three runs of corn. South facing into Butler Basin,
southwest facing chute into Mill A
and the Dead snag, northwest facing Gobblers.
Glide activity:
Raymond slabs show movement,
but no release.
Four new glide slides on the east facing in Broads, since last weekend.
The three slides south of the Diving board zoomed. Still some hang fire.
The zoomed rock slab glide slide, south of Bonkers.
Lower Broads activity, with glide cracks, upper east facing Stairs in the background.
This photo was emailed from John, who was camped in Broads over the weekend, viewing only one glide slide during that period.
Debris running across the valley, illustrating why the gully up the middle is affectionately labeled "the gauntlet".
Weather forecast indicates another little storm for Monday.
